11. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.
I believe that we, as women, sometimes underestimate the need for our husbands to have full confidence in how their homes are maintained and run, and in the case of the workplace, how the office is run. Sometimes, we get caught up in doing our “own thing,” so that we forget to look at this aspect. It is difficult for a man to go to work and do his job and not be sure that when he comes home, his life, his wife and his children are in a good semblance of order.
When my son was serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. He had to leave his daughter and entire household in the capable hands of his wife. If he did not have full confidence in her that she could handle all matters of civilian life with reliability, he would not have been able to perform his job as a soldier, as he was trained to do, without worrying about what was going on at home.
Read Proverbs 14:1 and fill in the blanks: The ___________ woman _____________ her house, but with her _________ _____________ the ________________ one tears hers down.
God has created the family to be the center of our society, from there all things of value grow. We must remember that God is and should be at the core of our families. Ecclesiastes 4:12 says “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” If we try and stand by ourselves, we can easily be overpowered. A husband and wife, together, can defend themselves, but they can lack the strength needed unless the Lord completes the cord of three.
We sometimes seem to think that as women, we got the short end of the stick, but we need to remember that in the beginning, we were created to be our husband’s helper. We are a joint team; one does not function well without the other. We truly are dependent on the other being helpmates with the husband at the head of the household and the wife being at his right hand. Proverbs 24:3-4 says, “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.”
Personal Question: How do I give my husband a reason or reasons to have full confidence in me so that he lacks nothing of Godly value? ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
