15. She gets up while it is still dark; She provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.
What a woman! I don’t know about you, but I do like my sleep, it‘s hard to wake up when it’s still dark out. One thing I’ve noticed though is that as I get older, the Lord keeps waking me up earlier and earlier!
Prayerfully, getting up earlier than the rest of the family, will give you that personal, quiet prayer and devotional time with our first Love, the Lord our God. We so badly need this! Since our children have grown and moved out, I get to do my devotional and prayer time with my husband (together) as we seek His face. This is a true blessing.
That being said, it is very important that we do get good sleep, going to bed early enough to get up early enough to take care of the morning needs of the family and ourselves.
Getting the kids cleaned, dressed and ready for school, making sure that they have a good meal in their bellies, so that they can concentrate on their studies and that our husbands and ourselves are fed and ready to face the day. All of this is part of keeping our bodies healthy and fit for the Lord’s work.
Read Psalm 139:13-14 and fill in the blanks: “For You created my ____________ being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I ____________ You because I am _______________ and ________________ made; Your works are wonderful; I know that full well.”
When we take the promises of God seriously, we believe that we ARE fearfully and wonderfully made, we are special to Him. Not thinking of ourselves higher than we ought, but knowing that He loves us and cares for us, that we are His workmanship, our husbands and children are His workmanship and with that knowledge, we must be good stewards of the gifts He has given to us.
Take the time to cook the good food spoken about above to the best of your abilities. Pay attention, know and understand, because many are depending on you to be the best that you can be.
Personal Question: What can I do to better provide the foods required for the optimum health of my family as God has called me to do? ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Introduction How blessed we are to have the "Acts of the Apostles," to learn how God's men and women took the Gospel from "Jerusalem...to the end of the earth." (Acts 1:8) The theme of Dr. Luke's first book (Gospel of Luke) was how Jesus, Himself, brought the "Gospel...
Introduction The Apostle Paul's journey to Rome continues in God's providence. God has given Paul the desire of his heart. (Acts 19:21) But our desires lead to more than we could ever imagine, often to suffering, but always to God's glory and our ultimate good. And we...
